Welcome 2 Dumfries & Galloway! hotels, restaurants, businesses, guest houses, events, services, festivals, gardens and more.
There is a thriving Arts & Crafts scene across Dumfries and Galloway.
The light here is perfect for artists and photographers, whilst the relaxed atmosphere brings out the creative spirits in those who work in more tactile mediums. Although most of the artists seem to have dug-in around Kirkudbright, there are plenty of others scattered across the region.
There are a good number of workshops and studios open to visitors during the summer, and offer a good opportunity to pick up an original work at a good price. Also worth checking out are the art galleries scattered across the region. These smaller galleries exhibit the work of local artists and makers regularly, and again offer an opportunity to collect works before they become mainstream.
Also we have other attractions well worth a visit, such as the Gemrock Museum at Creetown, the Aviation Museum in Dumfries with its De Havilland Vampire, Buccaneer, Canberra, Spitfire II restoration, Trident 3B and more. The Bladnoch Distillery is more than a distiller of fine whisky, it also hosts numerous live events, music, tastings and has camping available.
